Writing in the paper edition of the Daily Mirror via Birmingham Live, pundit Stan Collymore has tipped Liverpool to sign Wolves hitman Raul Jimenez along with winger Adama Traore as part of a noteworthy double swoop – claiming Jimenez could provide ‘real competition‘ for Roberto Firmino.

Jimenez, who has racked up an impressive 24-goal haul in all competitions for Nuno Espirito Santo’s side this season, has caught the eye of top European clubs due to his prolific form.

Should Liverpool sign Jimenez?

Described as ‘special’ by the Wolves boss, it’s no secret that Jimenez has turned heads since signing on a permanent deal at Molineux after a noteworthy loan spell.

Indeed, the likes of Manchester United and Real Madrid have reportedly been keeping tabs on the Mexico international – but Collymore has now claimed that Liverpool should be in the hunt for his signature.

Writing in the Mirror, the ex-Reds attacker suggests both Jimenez and Traore should be on our shopping list – especially considering the target man could prove to be a viable alternative to Firmino upfront.

The Brazilian, while impressing again this campaign, has still only managed eight goals in the Premier League season this season – a figure tripled by Jimenez throughout both Europe and the top flight.

As well as this, Collymore explains that the 29-year-old links play well and is an ‘all round eight out of ten‘ in the art of striking – attributes which could entice manager Jurgen Klopp.

However, judging by his reported £36 million price tag, and the fact he is approaching 30, it appears unlikely Fenway Sports Group will sanction such a move.
