After news broke recently how Liverpool’s current No.2 Adrian would leave the club in the summer, it was confirmed that the club would likely look to the summer transfer window in search of a new deputy to first-choice Alisson.

The prospect of becoming the No.2 goalkeeper at a club isn’t exactly the most inviting so it is difficult to find a player willing to take on such a role, but the Reds will no doubt find a way to secure a player with the quality to play for the club at any level and in any tournament.

The fine form of Caoímhin Kelleher has impressed many at the club and it is likely that we will see the youngster get more chances between the sticks in the future, but this hasn’t stopped the rumour mill from churning out a possible new goalkeeper that the club are targeting.

According to the Daily Mail, the club are looking towards Trabzonspor and Turkish international goalkeeper Ugurcan Çakir, with club scouts reportedly impressed by his performance against Norway at the weekend after they were initially there to scout star-striker Erling Haaland…

The report suggests that the club is lining up a £14.5million bid for the 24-year-old in the summer with them impressed by his display and it is fair to see why.

Çakir has been scouted by the Reds for some time now but after his display, it has become ever-present that he would be the perfect player to come into the club and provide much-needed competition for Alisson.
