Liverpool to rival Man City for £30million striker

|

Liverpool are set to rival Manchester City and Arsenal for the signing of Red Bull Salzburg striker, Noah Okafor, according to The Mirror.

Okafor has been in phenomenal form so far this season, scoring ten goals already this season for the Austrian side, including goals against the likes of Chelsea and AC Milan in the Champions League.

The 22-year-old only has a year and a half left on his current contract at Salzburg after signing from Basel in 2020, it is expected Okafor will move on either in the summer or at the end of his current deal.

The striker has also already represented the Switzerland national team on nine occasions, scoring two goals and is set to play at the Qatar World Cup with their first game against Cameroon on the 24th of November.

Salzburg’s current sporting director, Christoph Freud has refused to rule out a move when speaking to Sky Sports Austria, saying: “I think there will be a lot more going on in the transfer market than in recent years. Okafor really took off last year.”

“I hope he plays a good world cup and then the Noah Okafor stock can become very interesting. I’m not ruling it out.”

Okafor could certainly prove to be an acute piece of business for whichever club manages to get the deal over the line, and I look forward to seeing how the player performs on the world’s biggest stage.
