As reported on the Liverpool website, Ben Doak, the young Scottish footballer, has signed his first professional football contract with Jurgen Klopp’s Liverpool. He can play on the flank as either an attacking fullback or a winger.
Last week the youngster turned 17. He made his first-team debut in the Carabao Cup against Derby County, coming off the bench to impress many of the Liverpool hierarchy. He was then rewarded with a place on the bench for the Premier League game against Southampton in the Premier League, which Liverpool won 3-1.

He is a quick player and has impressed Jurgen Klopp, and the other Liverpool coaches with his speed, direct play, and ability to run with the ball at his feet. In addition, he has shown he has an eye for goal while playing for the Scottish under-17s.
He started his career with Marc Bridge-Wilkinson at Liverpool’s under-18 side. He also put in a few performances for the under-21s in Premier League 2, the Papa John’s Trophy, and the under-19 side in the UEFA Youth League. Doak scored four goals and provided four assists to help the Reds finish at the top of the Youth League group and progress to the knockout stages.
The future is undoubtedly bright for the youngster, and this professional football contract comes at an excellent time when he is sure to get game time at Liverpool and some much-needed senior experience under his belt.
