After a successful loan spell with Bournemouth in the Premier League last season, Liverpool were left with a difficult decision with what to do with Harry Wilson – does he stay and play a rotation role for Jurgen Klopp this season, or go back out on loan in search of regular first-team football?

The Welshman chose the latter, and this season has been sent on loan to Championship side Cardiff City, a perfect fit for the Welsh international.

Since joining the club, Wilson has made 4 appearances for the Bluebirds, one of which coming from the bench – and he has impressed in those games, too.

From his four appearances, Wilson has scored 2 goals, most recently on Tuesday, scoring the final goal in Cardiff’s 3-0 victory over Barnsley at home.

Liverpool fans on Twitter were delighted to see the young Welshman hit the target the other week when scoring his first goal for the club against Bournemouth.

The 23-year-old has been causing a stir since his arrival, recording an 8.13/10 WhoScored match rating against Barnsley, as well as an 8/10 in their aforementioned 1-1 draw against Bournemouth a few weeks back, where he scored the club’s only goal of the game.

It has been good for Wilson to get the minutes under his belt that he deserves, especially after the clear quality he showed last season with the Cherries, where he scored 7 league goals, including a beautiful freekick in their 3-1 loss to Manchester City.

Wilson’s positive performance will likely put him in contention for Cardiff’s game against Bristol City tomorrow night, and there will be lots of hope from the Liverpool faithful that he will continue to succeed whilst on loan this season.
