Former Liverpool goalkeeper Loris Karius has spoken out on the impending transfer of Sadio Mane to FC Bayern Munich and believes the German giants are on the cusp of a ‘crazy’ signing.
Speaking to BeIN Sports, the German goalkeeper, whose torrid time on Merseyside came to an end this summer believes the signing of Mane only bodes well for the future of the German top flight.
“It would be a crazy transfer for Bayern because he’s one of the top players at Liverpool,” says Karius, the goalkeeper who will ultimately be remembered for his Uefa Champions League final performance in 2018.
“If Bayern Munich manages to sign someone like him, then you can only congratulate them and the Bundesliga too. It would be another star in the league, so I would be very happy for the Bundesliga.”
Sadio Mane is set to undergo his medical tomorrow before Bayern Munich unveil him as their new signing at the Allianz Arena on Wednesday. It is going to feel strange.

Mane is set to join the ranks at Bayern in the next few days, a strange feeling when the 30-year-old has been a key component in Liverpool’s squad for some time now.
Nevertheless, the Reds have been hasty in their pursuit of replacements, and the club-record signing of Darwin Nunez has certainly eased the blow of Mane’s departure from Merseyside.
