Liverpool’s Sadio Mane has been nominated on the initial 30 man shortlist for the 2016 African Footballer of the Year Award.

There are plenty of familiar names in the 30 man shortlist, and twelve of the contenders are Premier League based.

The title is currently held by Borussia Dortmund’s Gabon striker Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang and this year’s winner will be announced in January following a vote amongst coaches and technical directors of African teams.

In no particular order, other than alphabetically by nation, the 30 man list as it stands reads.
