The saga continues with Liverpool being linked with a mega-money move for young French start Kylian Mbappe, with the 22-year-old the talk of the footballing world with him potentially leaving PSG this summer.

Jurgen Klopp’s side have been consistently linked with the Frenchman over the past year and the club have been given boost after boost over recent months too with the Reds reportedly in the best position to be able to sign him compared to some of Europe’s cream of the crop who appear to be suffering financially.

The LiverpoolEcho reported that the Reds were in a position to take advantage of Real Madrid’s current financial situation after the Spanish club funded the remodel of their Santiago Bernabeu stadium and the current financial impacts from the world’s current climate.

Anfield Watch also reported on Twitter the recent claims from ESPN, with the sports news outlet claiming that Mbappe would consider a move to the Reds if they were to table an offer in the summer and there is no hiding that Mbappe is a fan of the club.

He congratulated former teammate Fabinho after our Champions League win, as well as admitting to watching the Reds and enjoying their style of football so much that he opts to use them as his go-to team on FIFA.

What this means to his future is unknown, Real Madrid are still likely to be favourites and would no doubt do anything in their power to free up funds and try to sign the striker from PSG but Liverpool’s lack of defensive signings this month despite the obvious and desperate need for a centre-back could have a bigger meaning behind the scenes that the board is saving for a big-money move in the summer – but only time will tell.
