Jude Bellingham is everywhere at the moment, isn’t he?
That being said, he is a top talent and is being chased by a host of top clubs in Europe, Manchester United being one of them. Liverpool have even registered their interest in the 16-year-old sensation, as per talkSPORT.
That being said, the Daily Mail revealed that Borussia Dortmund are set to see off competition from the Premier League, including the Reds, for his services. This is nothing but good news for Jurgen Klopp and his team.
Should Liverpool sign Jude Bellingham?
Despite him being highly rated and Liverpool having the unmistakable habit of hoovering up young talent in recent months, questions have to be asked about Bellingham’s price tag. One of them being if his spell in Germany goes well, what will his next move be worth?
At the age of 16, that is a lot of money, and a big gamble to take on someone so young with no guarantees how he will turn out. This reminds me of the Norwegian teenager Martin Odegaard and when he signed for Real Madrid at the same age. A young man who had the world at his feet, but unfortunately was not the player that he was expected to be.
Because of this, I feel Liverpool have dodged an unnecessary bullet. Having already raided Fulham for Harvey Elliott in the summer, it lets the club continue with his development and pathway into first-team football, a player who the Kop faithful have warmed to dearly since his arrival in the summer.
For me, I’m quite thankful that the Reds have not been naive enough to spend that much money on a player of that age. With Michael Edwards’ impeccable track record, it’s hardly a surprise that this hasn’t gone through.
