Multiple rumors are flying around regarding who Fenway Sports Group will sell to. Several potential buyers are interested in purchasing Liverpool. In addition, there are rumours about interest from Qatar, the United States of America, India, and Dubai.

Fenway Sports Group have possibly figured out that they’ve taken Liverpool as far as they could. They’ve created a robust and well-oiled brand, grown their investment multifold in just over a decade, and now seem to be cashing out. Whether they are looking to sell the entirety of the club or just a small percentage is still being determined. However, this is a good business move by John Henry.

Would Indian Billionaire and business Tycoon Mukesh Ambani be the right kind of owner for Liverpool?

I don’t know how good the chances are for this to happen. But looking at it as an investment opportunity, this is great for Liverpool fans worldwide (especially in India) and Mukesh Ambani. So this potential deal is a win-win.

For Liverpool fans in India, this is a great move. The potential for growth for Liverpool in India is tremendous too. The commercial viability of India is something that Ambani can exploit as well. Football is growing in the sub-continent, and purchases like this will undoubtedly give the growth an impetus.

Ambani already has experience in the sporting world with the Mumbai Indians in the Indian Premier League. He also helped set up the Indian Super League, the Premier football club competition in India. With a net worth of in excess of $90 billion, money obviously is not an issue.

Overall this looks like a great deal from an idealistic perspective, but whether it will happen or not, time will tell!
