Writing in an article for the Athletic, reliable Liverpool correspondent James Pearce has outlined Liverpool’s financial difficulties surrounding the current global pandemic and how it may impact the club’s transfer policy.

The Reds have been touted to sign the likes of Timo Werner and Kalidou Koulibaly recently, but Pearce claims the matter is not so simple due to the current restrictions on club profit.

As well as matchday earnings, Liverpool look set to take a hit in terms of media revenue, commercial sales and the lack of lucrative friendlies – potentially making any transfer activity difficult from a financial standpoint as per the Athletic.
