According to a report from the Daily Star, Arsenal ‘recently enquired’ over previous Liverpool target Nabil Fekir – with a move to the Premier League looking back-on for the Real Betis midfielder nearly two years after his drawn-out Reds transfer saga

Fekir has started 21 La Liga games this season for the Spanish side after joining them on a five-year deal from Lyon worth £17.7 million, scoring seven goals and assisting three others according to WhoScored.

Should Liverpool reignite their Fekir interest?

Yes, bring him in

Yes, bring him in

No, move on

No, move on

As Betis edge closer to securing their top flight status for another season, Fekir’s career could have looked very different if his transfer to Liverpool didn’t fall through around 24 months ago – with the Reds highly touted to secure his signature back in the summer of 2018.

Indeed, once a reported high priority target for manager Jurgen Klopp, Fekir was through the doors at Melwood on the verge of completing a £53 million switch – only for talks to break down at the eleventh hour after the Frenchman’s failed medical.

The Daily Star now state Arsenal have entered the race for his signature as a potential replacement for loanee Dani Ceballos.

Valued at £28.8 million, Fekir could now have another avenue into one of the most prestigious leagues in world football as Arsenal poach – but should Liverpool reconsider a swoop?

Speaking to SFR Sport via the Liverpool Echo, Reds star Sadio Mane tipped Fekir to do ‘great things’ at Anfield when we were linked with a move – with such worthy praise potentially hinting that we shouldn’t completely close the door on future interest.

Whether or not Liverpool reignite their mission to bring Fekir to Merseyside is a different matter, though, especially with recent events affecting our finances.
