With Sunday being the final day of the Premier League season of 2016/17, the Assist King Winner is now known.
In contention for this year’s recognition for being the top assister in the Premier League were Manchester City’s Kevin de Bruyne, Tottenham Hotspur’s Christian Eriksen, Swansea City’s Gylfi Sigurdsson, Chelsea’s Cesc Fabregas and Arsenal’s Alexis Sanchez and it was largely between those five for the majority of the campaign.
In the final few matches of the year though de Bruyne more than took advantage and lifted himself onto 18 for the campaign, with Eriksen in second place on 15 and Sigurdsson taking third spot with 13 assists.
Fabregas finished fourth with 12 with Sanchez completing the top five with 10.
Whilst de Bruyne had the advantage as the season drew to a close and Sigurdsson held some space at the top of the table, a number of others were close with nine or below.
