Probably The Best Weekend For Liverpool In Quite A While

It has been quite a weekend, hasn’t it!

Wolverhampton Wanderers away, on a Friday night, was seen as a tricky fixture, after all, two of our rivals for the Premier League title, Manchester City and Chelsea, had dropped points there.

But, on a very inclement night, weather-wise, Jurgen Klopp and his squad strode into the Black Country and picked up the three points available.

The win extended Liverpool’s lead, at the top of the Premier League, to four points.

But we were realistic enough to expect that lead to be chopped back to one-point after the round of fixtures scheduled to be played on Saturday, after all, we didn’t expect Manchester City to do anything other than win against Crystal Palace, did we!

However, miracles do happen at this time of the year and Crystal Palace surprised us all by winning 3-2, at the Etihad Stadium in what was, quite probably, the shock of the day.

That result leaves Liverpool top of the table as we wait for the visit of Father Christmas and the opportunity to eat, drink and be merry.

Let’s hope there’s more Christmas cheer for Liverpool on Boxing Day when they welcome Newcastle United to Anfield.
