With the international break almost over and Liverpool set to return to action with a trip to Arsenal in the Premier League, the club then face the tasking challenge of Real Madrid in the Champions League quarter-finals.

The Reds initially had some big boost in confidence after finding out that Toni Kross would likely miss the game due to injury, as well as Federico Valverde with the pair possible set to be absent for the first leg of the fixture at the start of April. This left the Reds in a much better position ahead of the clash with them able to exploit the midfield battle.

However, despite all the setbacks and injuries ahead of the game for Real, they have been boosted with the possible return of Spanish right-back Dani Carvajal who could return in time for the game on 6th April, according to Spanish publication AS as cited by AnfieldWatch on Twitter…

Carvajal has been an important component for Real since rejoining them from Bayer Leverkusen in 2013 and has won almost everything possible for the Spanish club over the last seven years.

The 29-year-old has been absent from injury since mid-February and will provide Zinedine Zidane a great boost of confidence for the La Liga club. I do feel as though the Reds have a great chance of winning the quarter-final against Real but their midfield injuries give me even more confidence that the club can get the job done.

Can Liverpool beat Real Madrid in the quarter-finals?

No

Carvajal may be returning from injury but I don’t see that as too much of an advantage for the Spanish club with the Reds still very strong in attack and have enjoyed some of their best form in Europe this season.

What do you think Liverpool fans, does Carvajal’s return make a difference? Let us know your thoughts in the comments section down below…
