Liverpool suffered a 3-2 defeat by Kaiserslauten in yesterday’s pre-season friendly.

After a forgettable first 45 minutes, the game came to life in the second half when Kaiserslauten took the lead after a Jack Hobbs error.

The Reds quickly responded with a goal from Bellamy after some great work by Garcia, and Garcia got the second himself to give Liverpool a deserved 2-1 lead.

However, two more errors by 17yr old Hobbs, gifted Kaiserslauten a 3-2 win and completed an nightmare performance for the reserve team captain.

Liverpool’s World Cup players watched the game from the sidelines and were treated to a rare sight in the final 10 minuted when Pepe Reina was introduced, as a midfielder!

And Pepe showed why he became goalkeeper instead of an outfield player when a chance to level the game came his way late on and he launched his shot yards over the bar.

Other then Bellamy and Garcia’s goal’s, the few other bright spots for the Red’s were, the form of Palletta who looked very assured once again before being substituted at the start of the second half, the partnership of Fowler and Bellamy upfront and Pennant made an impressive debut when introduced into the action in the second half.
