Liverpool are rumoured to be in the race to sign Bayer Leverkusen winger Leon Bailey, according to reports.

The 22-year-old has three years left on his contract in Germany and is attracting a lot of interest from sides in the Premier League with his consistent performances.

Bayern Munich have held a long-standing interest in the Jamaica international but the Express have reported that they would rather sell to an English side.

The report adds that Chelsea are the latest team to enter the race for Bailey after scouts were in attendance at Ibrox during his side’s 3-1 win against Rangers in the Europa League, with the Blues expected to bid £85m for his services.

Bailey is having a solid season so far for Die Werkself, scoring seven times in 22 appearances in all competitions. The likes of Arsenal and Manchester United have also taken an interest in what looks to be a four-way battle to bring him to England.

Would you bring Leon Bailey to Liverpool?

The question is for Liverpool, Bailey or Kai Havertz? Both play for the same side, both are in their early 20s and both have been linked with a move to Anfield next summer.

However, with 10 goals and eight assists in 34 outings in all competitions this term, Havertz has had a lot more game time than Bailey and is two years younger than the Jamaican at the age of 20.

He is also versatile, which is what manager Jurgen Klopp likes. He has the ability to play in the middle, in the No. 10 and can also play on the right-wing if required.

With Leverkusen’s asking price of €80m (£72.5m), and as talented as Bailey is, it would make sense for us to try and sign Havertz instead.
