Liverpool have enquired about the availability of 18-year-old prodigy Talles Magno, according to reports in Brazil.

Magno, who is a versatile centre forward, can also play on the left-wing and is considered as one of the brightest prospects coming out of South America and plays for the Brazil Serie A side Vasco da Gama.

Despite being inexperienced for his senior side, Magno has made two appearances in the Copa Sudamericana and provided one assist in those outings, illustrating that there is plenty to come from the youngster.

For his country, he has found the net three times in six appearances at U17 level (per TransferMarkt), which also shows glimpses of what the versatile forward is capable of.

According to Yahoo Esportes, the Reds’ interest in the player surfaced in May and their intention has not changed. Despite this, no offer has yet been submitted for Magno’s services.

The report adds that Vasco da Gama have tied him down with a release clause of £45m, with Liverpool wanting to know more about the player himself, his family situation and his overall attitude before trying to strike a deal with his club.

Should Liverpool go all out to sign Talles Magno?

Yes

Yes

No

No

With this in mind and with the current global situation, his price is set to tumble and the club could let him go for as little as £18m, which could explain why the Merseysiders are taking a strong interest.

Funds are reported to be short this summer at Anfield. At this price, this could be a player that Liverpool get through the door if they play their cards right.

The next Neymar

There have been some bold comparisons made by the Brazilian media regarding Magnos. Two of which have been Gremio winger Everton and Richarlison, but the one name that sticks out is the Paris-Saint Germain superstar Neymar, cited by Goal.

This is due to his ability to adapt and flex his muscles in different positions at the top of the field, as well as possessing great holdup and linkup play.

Magno could follow the footsteps of Brazilians that have gone before him, such as Romario and Ronaldo, and venture his way into Europe to make his name.

If he does, Magno could be a name that we will be fond of for many years to come.
