Liverpool confirmed today, that they had released 5 players from the reserve team.
Rafa has decided to let go of reserve team regulars Ramon Calliste and Robbie Foy. Young goalkeepers Paul Lancaster and Paul Willis will also be leaving and full back Callum Woods will also be seeking pastures new.
The biggest surprise was perhaps the decision to allow Calliste to leave. The Welsh Under-21 international has impressed for the second string this season since arriving from Manchester United.
The move is seen by some as the start of a necessary cull of the playing staff at the club over the summer as Rafa attempts to refine his squad for the challenges of next season and beyond.
