Liverpool manager Jurgen Klopp has voiced his concerns rather frequently recently over the current match scheduling and the role of TV broadcasters in the matter after the Reds have suffered somewhat of an injury crisis this season.

On TalkSPORT radio yesterday, presenter Simon Jordan was quick to voice his opinion on Klopp’s recent criticism of TV broadcasters and their lack of concern over injuries and player welfare at the moment…

I can’t understand that people such as Jordan himself have these types of views – the complete lack of respect and the disregarding of player’s welfare and fitness over simply having the games played out to fit the TV broadcaster’s schedules is ridiculous.

People such as Jordan seem to forget that the reason the broadcast companies pay so much money to broadcast Premier League and Champions League games because they provide the best quality of football in the world in my opinion – and with the number of injuries this season growing in leagues all over the world, that quality starts to decrease.

Live football is already sub-par with the absence of fans in stadiums, with the atmosphere non-existent, as well as the Premier League’s audacity to release their now-scrapped PPV scheme of almost £15 a game despite, again, their not even being any fans in the stadium justifies the whole argument that Jurgen Klopp is making.

The companies don’t care about the clubs, so long as the game is played and they get a decent viewership from it – but what they fail to remember is that the viewership depends on the quality of football that fans are watching.

What do you think Liverpool fans, do you agree with Simon Jordan’s point? Let us know your thoughts in the comments section down below…
