These Liverpool fans have been reacting to comments made by Manchester United defender Phil Jones after he revealed that there was an offer on the table from the Reds.

The England international made the move to Old Trafford from Blackburn Rovers in 2011 for £16m and “plays like he’s on roller-skates“, according to Arsenal legend Martin Keown.

Although he did arrive in Manchester with high expectations and was tipped to have a bright future. Despite picking up 27 caps for his country, he has not lived to the hype and has been heavily criticised as a result.

Jones previously told MUTV that he turned down a move to Anfield, as well as Manchester City, Chelsea, Arsenal and Everton, which Anfield Watch brought to our attention on Twitter.

Unsurprisingly, supporters were relieved about the fact that Jones opted to go to our rivals and made their feelings clear on social media. One fan said that he was glad that we “dodged this bullet”, while another simply described him as a “joke”.
