Stoke City have confirmed they have ended their interest in signing Liverpool goalkeeper Scott Carson.
Stoke had agreed a transfer fee for Carson, believed to be in the region of £4 million, with Liverpool recently, but they have now revealed they are no longer interested.
A statement on their official website read:
‘We can announce we are no longer pursuing Liverpool goalkeeper Scott Carson.
‘The club will continue to look to improve the squad and remain hopeful of closing in on several new signings ahead of the Premier League campaign.’
Carson is still likely to leave Anfield in the coming weeks with both West Brom and Blackburn Rovers believed to be keen on signing him.
