Losing the Champions League Final, last season, was a bitter pill to swallow.

This season, the Liverpool support are hoping that Jurgen Klopp’s side can go one better and bring the famous trophy back to Anfield for the sixth time.

Last week, in a tense game at Anfield, Liverpool ensured their participation in the last-16 with a 1-0 win over Napoli, courtesy of a goal from Mo Salah.

Today, the draw for the first of the knockout rounds was made and Liverpool were drawn to play, over two-legs, another side steeped in Champions League history, Bayern Munich.

There’s no doubting it is a difficult tie, but Liverpool can take heart from the fact that the Bavarian outfit haven’t had the best of starts to their Bundesliga campaign.

The fixtures will be split over a series of dates with the first leg being played, at Anfield, on either of the following dates:

• February 12th or 13th
Or
• February 19th or 20th

The second leg will be played in the Allianz Arena, on either of the following dates:

• March 5th of 6th
Or
• March 12th or 13th

Personally, I’m pleased with the draw and reckon Liverpool can win, but what are your thoughts on the draw?
