Liverpool manager, Jurgen Klopp, has revealed that star man Thiago Alcantara will be available for selection on Saturday night as Liverpool host Leeds United at Anfield.
The boss also confirmed that Joel Matip, Naby Keita, Diogo Jota, Luis Diaz and Arthur Melo will all miss the clash as they continue to recover from their injuries.
Speaking in his press conference ahead of the game (Liverpool FC Youtube Channel), Klopp said: “Thiago is back. Naby not yet. Joel will not be back- he’s here training but rehab. You don’t have to ask about Diogo for a while and not for Luis for a while.”
Captain Jordan Henderson will still be assessed ahead of the game after picking up a knock in Liverpool’s away win at Ajax during the week.
Klopp confirmed this saying: “With Hendo, we have to wait a little bit. It’s a knock. He was a bit stiff yesterday, had only treatment yesterday. So, we will see how he will be today. I expect him to be OK, to be honest.”
In regard to Ibou Konate’s recent injury recovery, Klopp added: “He’s a step closer, definitely, a few days more and he’s around now and is now available.”
Having Thiago Alcantara back available is a huge boost to Jurgen Klopp as he looks for a win that could move his team just two points behind Newcastle United in fourth place.
