Brazil international Roberto Firmino missed Monday’s 1-1 draw at home to Crystal Palace after suffering an injury in training.

During the clash Liverpool forward Darwin Nunez got sent off for violent conduct; which leaves Jurgen Klopp’s team in a precarious position heading into their next Premier League fixture at Old Trafford.

Nevertheless, according to Goal’s Neil Jones, Firmino is likely to feature against Manchester United next week, whether this will be from the bench is yet to be confirmed.

Firmino is utilised as more of a super-sub nowadays, but with the 3-game absence of Darwin Nunez, he will be heavily needed to keep things firing up top for Liverpool.

The Brazilian, however, will need to drastically improve to change Liverpool’s fortunes; the Brazilian put in a less than impressive performance against Fulham last weekend.

Despite this, he has a glossy record for the Reds; scoring 98 goals and providing 74 assists in 329 appearances for Jurgen Klopp’s heavy-metal-minded side.

So all in all, it would be brilliant to have Firmino back in the squad to face Manchester United, if there was ever a time for him to recapture some form, it’s Monday night at Old Trafford.
