We all know the importance that Liverpool’s Dutch colossus Virgil van Dijk has to the Reds backline, with him helping to transform the club’s defensive capabilities since joining from Southampton in 2018.

Sadly for the club, Van Dijk has been sidelined since October after a nasty challenge from Toffees goalkeeper Jordan Pickford left the Dutchman with a ruptured cruciate ligament which required surgery, leaving him out for the rest of the current campaign.

There have been slight updates on the 29-year-old’s fitness along the way of his recovery but the most recent evidence of his recovery has sparked plenty of enjoyment from the Liverpool faithful after he posted a video on Twitter of his work in the gym, clearly showing his recovery is going well and that we will see the defender back sooner rather than later…

The update from Van Dijk definitely gives Liverpool fans something to be happy and excited about given the poor season we have endured so far.

Results haven’t been going our way for the most part and our title defence has been all but thrown into the mud, with the club now facing a battle for a top-four spot and a place in next season’s Champions League competition.
