Loads of Liverpool fans have been pleading for Pedro Chirivella to remain on Merseyside.Β 

The Spanish midfielder has impressed the Kop faithful during the current campaign for his displays in the FA Cup.

However, his contract his set to expire in the summer and the Reds have appeared to have made a decision on his future.

According to the Liverpool Echo, the 22-year-old will leave in a similar fashion that Nathaniel Clyne and Adam Lallana are expected to and will be released in the summer.

Chirivella has only ever made 11 first-team appearances for us since his move from Valencia in the summer of 2013 but has scored just twice and provided seven assists in 62 outings for the U23s.

With this in mind, supporters hoped that the report was not true and made their feelings clear about Chirivella on social media. One fan said that it would be a shame to see him leave, while another hoped he sticks around as he is a “useful asset” to the squad.
