Flocking to Liverpool’s official announcement that youngster Layton Stewart has put pen-to-paper on a new deal, plenty of Reds have gone wild over the 17-year-old attacker – hailing him as a ‘talent‘ and excitingly dubbing him the ‘next Robbie Fowler‘.
Stewart, who finished his first season in the academy with a head-turning 16-goal haul, most recently scored a hat-trick against Sunderland during his last outing – with the conclusion of a fine season prompting the club to tie him down with a new deal.
The teenager, according to this official club update, spearheaded our Under-19 UEFA Youth League side to top of the group stage – going on to be promoted to our U23s team shortly after.
Manager Jurgen Klopp also called upon the youngster for our quarter-final Carabao Cup clash away to Aston Villa, giving him a place on the bench, and it appears he could have a bright future at Anfield for years to come.
Here’s how supporters celebrated the news down below.
