Following Liverpool’s 3-1 victory over Brighton at the Amex Stadium on Wednesday evening, despite the win which takes us closer to breaking an abundance of Premier League records, these Reds supporters were not impressed with youngster Neco Williams’ performance.
Williams, who was taken off at half time to be replaced by star left-back Andrew Robertson, lost possession 10 times in the first half alone and only managed to complete 64% of his passes as per SofaScore.
How did you rate Neco Williams?
Very poor
Definitely not his best game
Did well
The 19-year-old, making his fourth Premier League appearance this season and his ninth in all competitions for the senior team, can clearly still develop further and may emerge as a brilliant defensive asset in future.
However, discussing this sole performance alone, these Reds don’t think he was quite at the races – going on to claim he was ‘poor‘ and ‘struggling‘ during the first 45 minutes.
Goals from Mohamed Salah (2) and Jordan Henderson rounded off a superb away victory after Leandro Trossard pulled a goal back for the home side, with records still up for grabs.
However, for these supporters, Williams was the talking point – find all of their best comments down below.
Think its the worse I’ve seen him, struggled out of position and ox giving no support doesn’t help

Poor creative performance. Good pressing, Neco struggling! @empireofthekop

LOL. 19 year old Lamptey ruined him in 45 minutes. He was lucky to not have got booked even earlier for trying and failing to pull him back.

Really? His been average in this game! Have I missed something?
Defensively been terrible. Made one brilliant block but other than that been all over the place and out of position.— Steve 19 Lilly (@SteveKOPLilly) July 8, 2020
Great? He got done 3 times by Lamptey and fouled him 3 times. Deserved yellow card.

Been quite poor imo, both ways.
