According to an update courtesy of reliable Liverpool correspondent James Pearce, defender Yasser Larouci looks set to leave Anfield – telling the club he won’t pen a new deal as Leeds United and Brentford both eye a move for the 19-year-old.
Larouci, who has made two senior appearances for the Reds this season, both in the FA Cup, will now head for the exit door in search of first team football – prompting many Liverpool fans to gush over the news despite it’s nature.
Should Liverpool sign a new left-back?
Yes, 100%
No, we have Adam Lewis
The teenager was given two chances to impress by manager Jurgen Klopp before announcing he would not extend his stay on Merseyside, coming on in place of James Milner during our 1-0 victory over Everton in the FA Cup and starting the 2-2 draw away to Shrewsbury.
As a result, Larouci wishes to move on and find more chances to break through, with these Reds appearing ecstatic whilst drawing up theories it could prompt Fenway Sports Group to sign an Andrew Robertson back-up.
Here’s what they had to say on Twitter.
great news 👍

Massive this. I actually believe he could have pushed on and start to get on bench a lot more. Had rapid pace, learnt the system in the academy. Always was a guy in pre season I said “He impressed me”. Shame, but surely forces us to spend.

wonderful news. More likely to actually buy a competent back up LB instead of being told we’re waiting on kids who’ll never make it

Lewis will be going out on loan, so surely we will need a lb for cover?

If there’ was any doubt before that we needed a LB…
