Speaking on the Blood Red Podcast, reliable Liverpool correspondent David Maddock has claimed that we will continue to track Lyon midfielder Houssem Aouar despite Jurgen Klopp’s supposed stance on transfer dealings this summer.

Aouar, starting 23 games for the Ligue 1 club before the season’s untimely cancellation, could be available at a knockdown price given Lyon’s recent financial concerns – something the Reds could wish to take advantage of to land their man.

Should Liverpool sign Aouar?

According to WhoScored, the 21-year-old has averaged more completed dribbles from centre-midfield than any Liverpool player this season – including star attackers Sadio Mane and Mohamed Salah.

This, among other factors, has potentially enticed Michael Edwards and co into considering a swoop – but Liverpool will apparently continue to monitor the Frenchman and be patient in hopes of paying a bargain fee for his services.

Lauded as ‘incredible’ by rival boss Pep Guardiola, many Reds have been in full discussion over this development – find all of their best comments down below.
