You should have stayed at a big club.

Where do you start about yesterday?

Like many Liverpool fans, I have kept my counsel over the last 10 days. I have read and heard nothing but gloating from Chelsea fans who seemed more intent on proving they got one over on their imagined rivals (That is us, by the way) than signing one of the world’s top strikers. I didn’t say anything.

Well that embargo has been lifted.

Torres may have thought he was moving to a big club, that will have been blown out of the water yesterday. Where was your support Fernando? You were, quite rightly, getting it in the neck from us and Chelsea fans did what? That is what you have moved to, a soulless bowl of football. A club who may be riding high presently but the bubble is going to burst. A team of players who are coming to the end of their career managed by a good man, who despite winning the double last year, is looking increasingly alienated from the owner and club’s fanbase. An owner who has pumped hundreds of millions into the club chasing an elusive Champion’s League. Elusive being the operative word. An owner who has a forthcoming burden in terms of building stadia for his home country’s world cup and who will have to get around the quite tricky impending financial fair play rules. £70m loss announced on Monday you say? Without any real transfer activity you say? Another £70m spent on Monday and you have 3 years to cut even? Good luck, seriously.

Enough about the club Fernando, what about the fans of the club you have joined? You must have walked out yesterday and thought, ‘Aw, they have made me a banner. What’s that, it is the same banner that those other lot made me. Exactly the same. Is that the Shankly Gates on Chelsea’s banner’? Oops. Epic banner fail. Helpful hint lads, try to be original – I know you have the plastic flag market cornered but still.

They better get into the Champions League next year or their club is in proper, proper trouble. Would be so sad. Enough about them, they deserve each other.

‘Basically speaking, unless there is a major inflow of cash into the club and the team is going to be changed from one moment to the next then whoever takes my place will be doing a similar job with similar players’.

Roy Hodgson said that. Anyone still want to stick up for him?

In 3 away games, Kenny has amassed more points than Roy did in 10. Without any new players. We are now 6th, we were previously told it was the players fault, not Roy’s, that we were in the bottom half. Roy was exonerated fully. Now with the same players we are moving forward. Whoops.

Meireles, having not scored under Roy at all, has 4 in the last 5 games. Kelly has been a revelation as has Lucas. Agger is the player we all knew he was, all bar Roy. Glen Johnson has been very good at left back. And we still have two new signings to come in.

We have owners who have no longer placed a burden of debt on us. They have stated they will allow us to spend the money we earn, approximately £40m a year (without Champs Lge money) on players. They look like they want to redevelop Anfield.

Everything is on the up.

Last word goes to Kenneth Mathieson Dalglish. He has brought the feel good factor back to the football club, a fully united support behind him. As it should be, he is a bona fide Legend.
