Conor McGregor “would love” to buy Liverpool

|

UFC fighter, Conor McGregor, has had his say on the news of Liverpool FC being put up for sale by their owners, Fenway Sports Group.

Speaking on hisĀ Twitter, when asked about buying the Merseyside Club, McGregor responded with: “I WOULD LOVE IT! I requested my information on this, yes. Soon as I heard, What a turn of events! What a club!”.

Since the news of FSG looking to sell the club, many names have been linked with taking over at Liverpool but this has got to be the funniest one yet.

The two-time UFC World Champion is known to be just as interested in his business ventures as he is as fighting in the cage these days, so it comes as no surprise to see McGregor putting his name in the hat.

The Irishman obviously owns the “Number 1 Irish whiskey on the market.”, known as ‘Proper Twelve’ as well as being involved in multiple other businesses around the world.

However, unfortunately for ‘The Notorious’ the club is valued at anywhere between $3.5billion-$5billion which not even a man as wealthy as Conor McGregor could afford individually- not even close in fact.

It’s even funnier the fact that Conor McGregor is supposedly a big Manchester United fan.

It’s hard to take his tweet serious but it’s still fun to imagine a world where Liverpool FC is owned by Conor McGregor. You can just imagine his celebrations in the stands when Mohamed Salah scores another hat-trick against Manchester United.
