Klopp expects ‘a real fight’ against Rangers

|

Speaking at a press conference ahead of Tuesday’s clash with Rangers, Liverpool manager Jurgen Klopp says he expects plenty of fighting spirit from his side.

On the back of a poor result against Brighton at the weekend, the Reds will be desperate to correct their mistakes under the lights at Anfield.

Many thought that Joel Matip’s late winner v Ajax would be a turning point in Liverpool’s season, similarly to the late winner from Fabio Carvalho against Newcastle- the outcome was the same with poor performances following both instances.

Klopp should have a wide range of options for the game after resting the likes of Luis Diaz, Diogo Jota and Harvey Elliott at the weekend.

Uruguayan striker, Darwin Nunez, was also on the bench against the Seagulls however Klopp insists “we have to be patient” over the inclusion of the record signing.

Players such as Thiago Alcantara, Jordan Henderson, Trent Alexander-Arnold, Joe Gomez and James Milner should have plenty of energy to exert after receiving limited or no game time over the international break.

Jurgen Klopp also labelled the meeting between the two sides as ‘pretty special’ as an English team faces a Scottish side in a competitive match for the first time in 42 years.
