Tom Hicks on Liverpool fans – ‘noise we are dealing with’.

Well Tom. Hows your hearing now?

For over 3 years we have had to put up with your lies, your pillaging of our club. You said you were never going to put the club in debt. Forget about the other lies about new stadiums, players etc. Your main crime was putting our club in debt so as you could own it.

In the last 3 years our club has haemorraged money to pay interest rates on the loans you took to own our club. For the stadium plans for a stadium that was never going to be built. We made a profit in transfer windows and reduced the wage bill, all to the detriment of the team, so you could own us.

You thought you were clever. You claimed that buying Liverpool FC was the smartest investment you ever made, that you would make $150 million from the deal.

You thought that the customers (fans) would just accept it. You didn’t count on protests, on boycotts, on viral email campaigns to banks that you wanted to lend you money. After all, we were just ‘noise’.

Well Tom, today you have lost about $70million because of your dalliance with Liverpool Football Club. $70million. Today is a warning to other potential Leveraged Buyout owners, it doesn’t work – you will get your hands burnt. That includes the Glazers (as much as I hate Manchester United, they don’t deserve to have leeches like that owning them) who I hope are next to slide into oblivion.

I am not going to pronounce our prospective new owners as our saviours, they could turn out to be similar. Once bitten etc. All we want from owners are people who will not drain us of our income by paying their debt. Liverpool Football Club is and always has been a profitable entity. There is much scope to make it even more profitable. That is where Hicks and Gillette went wrong, they devalued us. New onwers can still make a return on their investment. The key to it is having the supporters united behind you.

Anyway, today isn’t about future owners. Today is about the current ones, not that they will be for much longer. Today is about fan power which surely every single club, no matter their differences, can agree is only a good thing.

Well in SOS. Well done Kopfaithful. Well done ShareLiverpool. Well done everyone who sent an email to a financial institution telling them not to refinances those leeches. Well done those behind the ‘Standards Corrupted’ shirts. Well done to countless others whom I haven’t mentioned.

Oh and Tom – Come on, feel the noise!!!!!
