The final round of 2017/18 Premier League fixtures is fast approaching and, as per usual, we’ve been trawling the record books to bring you all the facts, figures and statistics you need to know about Liverpool’s upcoming match.

The Reds bring the curtain down on their 2017/18 campaign domestically knowing a point at home to Brighton & Hove Albion will be enough to secure them a coveted top-four finish.

The Reds will be expected to get more than that though with a Champions League final against Real Madrid to prepare for and the Seagulls already safe after a memorable first season in the top-flight.

Here’s what caught our eye:

• Liverpool and Brighton have contested 26 competitive matches during their respective histories with Liverpool leading overall courtesy of 14 wins to 4 defeats and 8 draws (source: 11v11.com).
• Liverpool have won the last four meetings in a row, including by a 5-1 scoreline at the Amex in December, and are unbeaten in the last six overall (W5, D1).
• Brighton’s last visit to Anfield was in the FA Cup back in February 2012 when they lost 6-1.
• Liverpool are the only remaining unbeaten side at home in the Premier League this season and their run now stretches to 20 matches altogether. They’ve also kept a clean sheet in their last four at Anfield.
• Brighton have failed to win any of their last 12 away league matches this term (D4, L8).
• The Seagulls have won twice historically at Liverpool’s famous old stadium – 1-2 in the FA Cup in February 1983 and 0-1 in the old Division One in March 1982.
• This will be the fifth time former Norwich City boss Chris Hughton has faced Liverpool as a manager in the Premier League; the previous four were all lost with the aggregate scoreline reading 20-4.
• The Reds have failed to score in their previous two Premier League matches – the first time that has happened in consecutive games under Jürgen Klopp.
• Mohamed Salah, scoreless in his last three outings, still needs one more goal to set a new 38-game Premier League scoring record. The Egyptian forward is currently tied with Alan Shearer, Cristiano Ronaldo and Luis Suarez on 31.
• On-loan forward Leonardo Ulloa scored his first league goal for Brighton in 1,467 days last time out. Prior to moving to Leicester City in July 2014, the Spaniard had netted for the Seagulls against Nottingham Forest in May of the same year.
