Top transfer journalist Fabrizio Romano has had his say on whether or not Liverpool will make any late moves in the transfer window.

After a less than impressive start to the Premier League season, fans of the Reds have been crying out for the club to make a move for a midfielder.

However, it seems that the Liverpool hierarchy may be sticking to their guns and current transfer model; avoiding unneeded late moves for players they don’t consider good enough.

Speaking in his column for Caught Offside, Fabrizio Romano, the transfer specialist had his say on whether or not Liverpool would make any late moves in the transfer window.

“I think Jurgen Klopp told the truth about the club’s plans: Liverpool can only think of a new signing if a smart opportunity like Luis Diaz appeared in January for example, otherwise they will stay with the current squad.”

Romano went on to state how Liverpool will likely follow the same transfer model they have done under Klopp and it’s unlikely they’ll turn away from this.

“We’ve seen in the past that Liverpool under Klopp don’t tend to do panic buys – as things stand, the approach is the same.”

This isn’t the news Liverpool fans wanted to hear and it’s disappointing to see such a lack of urgency in the transfer market after recent lacklustre performances.

It’s fair to say due to current injuries Liverpool’s midfield isn’t up to scratch and starting an ageing James Milner and Jordan Henderson in a clash against Manchester United leaves little to be desired.

With Naby Keita now added to the long list of Liverpool absentees, it seems foolish to not even attempt to buy a midfielder whilst the window is still open.
