Form and past records count for nothing going into this match against (who many would say are our fiercest rivals, even ahead of Everton) ManU however Liverpool go into this with an impressive Europa League win with ManU drawing against Glasgow Rangers, not that this counts for anything.

ManU Team News:

Injuries rule out Carrick, (the permanently injured) Hargreaves and Valencia, who picked up a serious injury on Tuesday that’ll most likely keep him out for most of the season. Anderson is doubtful.

Player to watch: Rooney

Wayne Rooney, who was left out against Everton last weekend, is likely to return to Premier League action and will face a hostile reaction. How will he react though?

Liverpool Team News:

Aurelio (who is struggling with injuries again this season as he has in recent seasons) and Kuyt are out with injuries, most others are expected to be fit as Roy Hodgson restores stars that missed the EL win back to the starting XI.

Player to watch: Torres

Fernando Torres has had people left and right bashing him recently but this is the sort of match that the Spaniard will shine in.
