Many Liverpool fans have flocked to winger Xherdan Shaqiri’s tweet after the Reds player professed how he is missing match action, with our fan base taking the opportunity to shower him with praise whilst imploring the Swiss international to stay at Anfield.
Shaqiri, who signed for us in the summer of 2018 for a £13 million fee after we triggered his release clause, has since gone on to accumulate 30 league appearances in total – with fellow wingers Mohamed Salah and Sadio Mane seemingly ahead of him in the pecking order on either flank.

Despite his lack of game time, plenty of Reds admire the 28-year-old for what he’s achieved when given the opportunity – with there potentially being some argument that he has repaid the £13 million fee with memorable contributions including a brace against rivals Man United back in 2018 and an assist for Georginio Wijnaldum’s second goal in the famous 4-0 victory over Barcelona.
