Despite recent rumours surrounding the departure of these two players, both Xherdan Shaqiri and Divock Origi reportedly won’t be leaving the club this January, with Jurgen Klopp still needing the duo for his plans for this season.

According to Sky Sports via AnfieldWatch on Twitter, the pair are unlikely to be sold this month despite the links away with Divock Origi being linked with both Wolves and Inter Milan – as well as Shaqiri being linked with a move away from Merseyside recently…

It is interesting to now see that the pair will stay at the club despite their lack of game time and impact during their chances as of late, with Origi being given a few chances to lead the line for the Reds in the Champions League this season but failing to make an impression during the game.

Swiss attacker Shaqiri has had glistening moments in a Reds shirt but has never done enough to try and dislodge his competition at the club – but recent injuries and lack of form from the current starting XI could lead to Klopp switching up his stance over the next few games meaning we could see further chances for the pair to rescue their Liverpool careers in the dying embers on this season.

The £28 million rated duo could fetch a pretty price for the club if they were to be sold but with them now reportedly remaining at the club, for the time being, it may be a case of seeing the pair depart in the summer if they fail to make much of an impact over these next few months.
