Alex Oxlade-Chamberlain’s Liverpool career has been a rollercoaster of emotions, to say the least, with injuries dampening what could have been a blossoming time on Merseyside.

Now, The Athletic’s James Pearce claims that the 28-year-olds time at Anfield is up and that the club are willing to listen to offers for the midfielder this summer.

It was a season to forget for Oxlade-Chamberlain, appearing only 29 times in all competitions, a season in which Jurgen Klopp’s men played every game physically possible.

But where next for the England international? There will certainly be a heap of  Premier League clubs looking for someone with the experience and obvious talent he possesses, when fit.

Rumours suggest that West Ham and Aston Villa have been put on red alert, with both viewing the Liverpool midfielder as a potential bargain with the Reds slapping a £10 million price tag on him.

These are two clubs in which Oxlade-Chamberlain could certainly shine, away from the pressures that being part of Jurgen Klopp’s trophy-chasing team brings.

Joining Steven Gerrard’s ambitious revolution at Aston Villa could work a treat, the Villains have already shown their intent for next season, securing the signatures of Philippe Coutinho,  Boubacar Kamara and Diego Carlos.

However, there may be more chance of playing time at West Ham under David Moyes, a team that has been pushing the limit for the previous two campaigns and whose trajectory only seems to be moving up.

It remains to be seen where the “Ox” will end up, nevertheless, fans will be sad to see how his time at Anfield eventually played out.
