Speaking on the Liverpool’s Official ‘We are Liverpool’ podcast, Andy Robertson has gave an insight on the journey he has took throughout his life to become a star at Anfield.

The Scotsman started his rise through the leagues at Queen’s Park in the Scottish Second Division, before moving to Dundee United in 2013.

After just one year at Dundee, Robertson secured a £3million move to Hull City in the English Premier League where his potential began to be noticed across the country.

Three years later, Liverpool snapped up the full back for around £7million which is now seen as one of the biggest bargains in recent footballing history.

Robertson gave a insight to the upbringing he had, which contributed to his successful career, saying: “We never had lots of money, but we always had a roof over our head and we had food on our table and you have to realise how lucky you are.”

“They always gave to charities. All of us have been brought up with that: you can always help others.”

The full-back’s amazing personality and generosity hasn’t gone unnoticed after starting his own charity in 2020, where he has now been awarded an MBE for his great work.
