Liverpool legend Sir Kenny Dalglish praised NHS workers following his recovery from coronavirus.
The Anfield legend tested positive for the illness after he was being treated for gallstones, despite not showing any symptoms.
Writing in his weekly column for The Sunday Post, the Scotsman said that the hospital workers were brilliant and that as a nation we should all be proud to have them.
Who is Liverpool's greatest ever player?
Kenny Dalglish
Steven Gerrard
The pandemic has caused the Premier League to postpone all games until further notice and with medical experts suggesting that it has yet to peak, it’s looking unlikely that will see any football soon.
With this in mind, supporters were understandably delighted to see Dalglish conquer coronavirus and made their feelings clear on social media. One fan said that he “remains an inspiration to so many”, even as a former player off the pitch.
