Liverpool Women will make their much-anticipated return to the WSL next season, after gaining promotion to the league in an emphatic 2021/22 campaign.

Now the club are looking to make waves in the transfer market to make sure they solidify their place in the English Women’s top flight and a former winger is being touted to rejoin the club.

Emma Sanders, who is considered one of the key players in Women’s football journalism Tweeted out confirming the claims that former winger Shanice van De Sanden is being eyed up to return to the club next season.

Van De Sanden would be a real coup for Liverpool, the winger left the club for Olympique Lyonnais back in 2017 winning the European Cup three times in arguably the best Women’s side to ever play the game.

The 29-year-old then went on to enjoy a successful spell at German side Wolfsburg and was a key cog in the Dutch national team who won the 2017 Uefa Women’s Euros.

Sanders also highlighted that Liverpool are looking at bringing in Emma Koivisto, Gilly Flaherty and Eartha Cuming’s alongside a centre-midfielder to sure up their engine room.
