Liverpool began their 2022/2023 Premier League campaign with a disappointing draw against Fulham at the weekend.
Despite glimpses of brilliance from Mohamed Salah and Darwin Nunez, the Reds were far from their best and were ultimately the second-best side on the day.
Speaking to Liverpool’s official club website, Captain Jordan Henderson talked about the result and how he expects the team to do a lot better in upcoming fixtures.
Jordan Henderson says the Reds have work to do following the 2-2 draw with Fulham on the opening day.

“We had a couple of chances at the end to win, but overall I think we can play a lot better than we were today. So yeah, overall, disappointed with the result and the performance.” Said the skipper.
“We knew it would be tough before the game, [against] a newly promoted side. We knew it would be a tough game, so there’s no excuses from us. I felt as though we looked a little bit lethargic at times, we didn’t play the way we normally do, and you get punished in the Premier League.”
Nevertheless, Henderson spoke how there was one positive to take from the game and it wasn’t all bad news for Jurgen Klopp’s side.
“The only positive is we reacted in the right way, especially second half, [we] created a few more chances and possibly could have nicked it. But I think a fair result was a draw.”
