Harvey Elliott has been a stand-out player in Liverpool’s lacklustre start to the Premier League season, where the club have picked up only 2 points.

The blip in the squad’s performances is evident, however, there is more than enough class and talent in the side to start putting things right.

The Reds face AFC Bournemouth Saturday afternoon at Anfield and will be hoping the home crowd can carry them through to their first win of the season.

Elliott spoke to Liverpool’s official club website about the fixture.

“It’s not really the start that we wanted. Obviously Liverpool, a big team with world-class players in the team as well, we always want to win every single game.” Said the midfielder.

“But I think it’s probably best that we get all of these games out of the way at the start and focus on what’s to come in the season. There’s still 35 games left in the season.”

Elliott went on to state that the team are doing everything they can in training to put things right and no one is pleased with how they’ve started the new campaign.

“As I said, it’s not the best but we’re always working hard, always looking forward to the next game and wanting to put it right in the next game.”

The midfielder reiterated the fact that the squad are working hard to put things right and want to kick start their season on Saturday.

“The boys are working as hard as they possibly can and hopefully the results will be coming our way soon.”

Elliott spoke about his and fellow teenage teammate Fabio Carvalho’s role in the squad and how they can make a lasting impact despite their age.

“Obviously we’re younger players in the team but we’ve had loads of experience, so we can’t really use that as an excuse when it comes to these big games. Either we’re starting or coming on, we just need to make sure that we’re fully focused and to impact the game.”

Elliott went on to state how he is almost certain the team can turn things around and they must all come together to do so.

“We just need to stay as a team, we need to stick together, we just need to make sure that we’re all around each other. I’m sure we can turn it around and make it better.”
