19-year-old Liverpool defender Owen Beck has made the decision to join Portuguese side Famalicao on loan for the 2022/2023 campaign.
Beck joined the Reds at the U13 level and has since impressed, graduating from the academy and being part of Liverpool’s pre-season squad last summer which resulted in him signing a new deal for the club.
The youngster featured twice in Liverpool’s Carabao Cup-winning campaign last season, coming off the bench against Preston North End and Leicester City for Jurgen Klopp’s side.

Beck will now test himself in the competitive Primeira Liga; the Portuguese top flight where the likes of Luis Diaz and Darwin Nunez were signed from.
It’s a bold decision, to say the least, but one that should ultimately pay dividends if Beck gets the game time he is craving; playing against Champions League and Europa League competition will do him no harm.
The left-back has featured six times in the Uefa Youth League and 20 times at the Premier League 2 level for the Reds.
