Sir Francis Drake used to live by the motto “greatness from small beginnings”, and for the likes of Andy Robertson and Virgil van Dijk, the saying can be applied to their careers.
I won the ball, had him in my back pocket all game!! https://t.co/WwHiuPCtIw

The two Liverpool stars got their big break in British football in the Scottish Premiership, with Robertson emerging as a promising defender for Dundee United whilst Van Dijk was a unit at the back for Celtic. The two players often faced one-another in their playing days north of the border, too, with a photo between the pair now being the subject of a Q&A.
Robertson held the Q&A on Twitter, in which he was asked about a photo of the 26-year-old fullback trying to defend a Van Dijk cross, to which the Scottish international replied with “I won the ball, had him in my back pocket all game.” An answer that many Liverpool fans on social media loved.
Here’s what tons of Reds supporters had to say about Robertson’s comment on Twitter…
Looks like a cheeky nutmeg lad

Not many would have predicted six years ago that Robertson and Van Dijk would flourish into two of the best defenders in world football.
