Harvey Elliott gives an update on his current fitness

|

Liverpool midfielder, Harvey Elliott, provided an update on his current fitness in an interview with Liverpool FC’s Official Site.

The 19-year-old came off with an injury after just half an hour in the Reds’ 3-1 defeat to Lyon in their opening game of the Dubai Super Cup.

In the interview, Elliott said: “I had a little knock on my surgery and it was frightening, to be honest, because it was the first time I ever had a kind of knock like that where I didn’t feel OK. But yeah, it was just a precaution.”

Liverpool fans will be filled with relief after many people were speculating the injury could’ve been a lot more serious for the youngster.

Elliott has been a standout performer so far this season, being an ever-present in Jurgen Klopp’s midfield despite being such a young age.

The fan favourite also reflected on his good form so far this season, saying: “To be able to play 22 games, to contribute a few goals, it’s always nice to do it for your boyhood club. There’s no better place to do it than at Liverpool.”

It is clear to see why Harvey has become so loved at Anfield, he is one of us fans but on the pitch and living out his dream every day and I can’t wait to see the player that he will become.
