Why Jude Bellingham is the right man for Liverpool – Opinion

|

Jude Bellingham has been the name on every fan’s lips for over a year now, but is the English wonderkid the solution to Liverpool’s problems?

Borussia Dortmund have slapped a £130m price tag on youngster Jude Bellingham in recent days, according to Fabrizio Romano of The Athletic.

This would be £45m more than the Reds’ current transfer record of £86m, which was spent on Darwin Nunez this summer.

Bellingham’s ability and potential has never been doubted, with the likes of Real Madrid and Manchester City also linked with the 19-year-old.

However, with the growing likeliness of Liverpool midfielders Naby Keita, James Milner, Alex Oxlade-Chamberlain and Arthur Melo all leaving the club next summer, followed by the age profile of the likes of Jordan Henderson and Thiago Alcantara, it could be argued that Jurgen Klopp could acquire multiple midfielders for the same price rather than just the one.

Cheaper options such as Leicester City’s Youri Tielemans and RB Leipzig’s Konrad Laimer are just some of the names to have also been linked to the Merseyside club, which could make more financial sense to the FSG spending structure.
